X'mas Dinner @ Crystal Jade Golden Palace

Had a dinner date on X’mas day with my family and my 5th uncle family from Malaysia… Made reservation for dinner at Crystal Jade Golden Palace at Paragon.. Never went there before, but I know that place is one atas restaurant..

Once inside, I can confirm the place is atas… the deco speaks for itself…

There’s 8 adults and 2 kids, so we took 1 big round table… Ordered the set dinner, with ala carte dish like roasted suckling pig and barbeque pork.. those are yummy.. When the food is served, my jaws dropped even further.. all food served are in single serving…

Here’s what is included in the set : -
- One bowl of fish maw soup
- One plate of abalone with veges
- One plate of prawns
- One plate of Peking duck skin with popian skin
- One plate of fried fish
- One bowl of noodles and lastly,
- One dessert….

Overall, bill cane up to approx S$1,300.. though expensive, but it’s dinner worth while… we spilt the bill with my parents to give my uncle a treat..

After dinner, we visited taka and took some pictures with the big Christmas tree… it’s an different x’mas day spent this year… =P

Next year x’mas, my house would be ready… yeah… so happy… so looking towards it…

The Restaurant... The Food... The Bill

My auntie and my 2 handsome cousins...

Families pics.. Incl my uncle...

What is X'mas without parties???

Had 3 X’mas parties this year but we only chose to go to 2 of them… The one we gave up is that at our auntie’s house on x’mas eve.. Dun like that event cos it’s quite boring.. Usually, we’ll stay at home to collect presents from our auntie.. ke ke ke.. this year, I got a mango bag… quite nice one too… =P

Part 1 : Juan’s Hse
We went to our 1st x’mas party @ Juan Juan’s hse on 23rd Dec... She’s in her very advanced stage of pregnancy.. so dun wan her to move too much.. so we paid her a visit.. Had a potluck dinner, with good food like dim sum (incl fried toufu, char siew pau etc), old chang kee, fried bee hoon, potato wedges and otah… Ended the dinner with sparkling juice + log cake + ice cream cake… yum yum yum…

The 2 babies, Jovin and Justin are around.. However, Justin is not in a very good mood that night, so he kept wailing… As usual, Jovin keeps everybody entertained and we had real good photos taken with her on Juan’s big sofa couch…

Towards end of the night, we had our gift exchange session… we got a wrist cushion and hand moisturer.. going to keep them for our new hse…

Part 2 : Ling’s Hse
We went to Ling’s Hse on X’mas day itself… Ordered in pizza hut for lunch..

We did some catching up among the 4 gals over a game of mahjong… Actually most of the catching up is abt Ah Xia cos she just came back from US… shared some of the experience of booking a banquet, wedding preparation tips and house searching… The 3 hubbies entertained themselves over some uncle talks and boring football games.. ha ha ha… Typical uncle pattern..

We ended the party with mahjong only played until南风 cause I need to rush to another place for a dinner date.. In the end, I won a small margin… ke ke ke… only S$1….. we also had a small gift exchange session.. there are only 7 of us that day, but yet on our 1st pick of the numbers, we manage to get presents of another person (not our own wives or hubbies too)… isn’t the day great… got ourselves some shower gel and a box of chocolate biscuits from Marks & Spencer.. Looking forward to our next mahjong session with them =P

Wedding Bells @ Shangri La

Attended my colleague’s Pat’s wedding at Shangri La recently.. This is the 1st time I attended a wedding dinner at Shangri La… the place was posh… Big ballroom, high ceiling and no pillar to block the way…

There is quite a number of 1st time during that wedding for me…

~ Pat and her hubby has this drawn portrait of themselves…. look like the real thingy…
~ I got a wedding bell for the dinner and the guy sitting beside me got a pair of bears.. 1st time I saw 2 different wedding gifts.. wanna to take the wedding bears oso but in the end, gave the bears to a colleague’s baby girl sitting at same table…
~ There is a live band .. the singer sang all the Chinese oldies.. she had a very nice voice
~ 1st time cod fish is served as part of the banquet.. tasted very nice, just like the one I had at Grand Shanghai.. yummy yummy..

The night ended well .. at least I’m full… May Pat and her hubby have a blissful life always …

X’mas Dinner @ Vienna

My department x’mas dinner was on 14th Dec… it was super early this year cos some of the colleagues would be away for holiday.. Mr Sunshine would be in HongKong and Mabel would be inTaiwan… wanna to include them for the party..

To make sure everyone attend, we even did up a calendar to fix the date.. there was also an unspoken motive behind this date.. Lina bday is on 16th.. we wanted to throw a celebration for her, yet wanna it to be a surprise.. so we decided to make it look like a x’mas celebration… cum bday celebration.. We went to Vienna International Seafood and Teppanyaki Buffet Restaurant at United Square.. the food selection as well as the quality was good..

Food selection include : -
Chinese food - Satay, dim sum, black pepper crab, Black Pepper/ Spicy Crabs, Tim Sum, Oats Prawn, Vegetables, Tofu, Tim Sum, Sharksfin Soup, Buddha Jumps Over The Wall, Herbal soup, etc etc etc

Western delights - Oysters, Crabs, Prawns, Mussels, Lobster Salad, Ham, Roast Beef, etc.

Japanese - Sashimi, Cold Noodles, Sushi, etc

Teppanyaki - Spaghetti, Shisamo, Salmon, Dory, Beef, Lamb, Chicken, etc.

Desserts & Fruits - American Cheese Cake, Blackforest Cake, Mango Passion, Tiramisu, Fudge, etc etc etc

Had really fun time while eating… After dinner, we had our cake cutting session… bought a chocolate log cake from Chocz… the staff there super blur.. when I called and placed order, I left my name there as a booking reference.. the staff wrote my name into the cake.. luckily is only a pc sugar icing and can be removed… then when my colleague collected on behalf, she wanted to make payment but the staff declined, claiming that payment had been made by me when I booked… Ermm, that din happen, so we got a complimentary cake…

After the makan session, we had lots of fun taking pics at the function and with the x’mas trees.. we are like kids.. but it’s worth all the fun and smiles…

Yummy ... Food... Yummy

Highligh of the night... Tube Juices... Yum Seng

3rd Day In Bangkok…

Last full day in Bangkok for us.. Our flight is at 9am in the morning, so had to complete all our shopping by this 3rd day..

The events of shopping the last 2 days kicked in on this third day.. our legs almost going to give way…plus my legs and calves started to ache due to last night foot massage… think the gals exerted too much strength of my poor legs.. in the end, we decided to take it slowly… since we had already bought most of the things we wanna…

The day started a little later than usual cos we are not gg to the market anymore.. and shopping centre doesn’t open till this late.. that morning, we went to Platinum mall.. it is a wholesale market.. as it is relatively near to our hotel, we took a stroll down the streets.. weather was ok for us in Bangkok… so the stroll was quite comfortable..

I muz give it in to Bangkok for the shopping that they offer.. after 2 levels of the shopping centre that we concurred, we gave in to our stomach.. we are hungry from all those walk… went to tried their food court.. nothing really “tempt” us that day… dear had his big bowl of shark fin soup… I tried on the Thai crepe… we also tried the Thai noodles.. but dear dun like it becos of the funny taste that it has..but lunch was quite satisfying.. at least at that point of time…

Left after we bought all the things we wanted.. shops kept repeating itself, so after a few storey.. nothing interest us anymore…

Decided to explore Siam Paragon… din do to the atas area… instead, we shopped in Paragon departmental store instead…Dear and I actually loved the place… how we wish we have super power and strength to carry lots of things back… but due to strength and space constraint… there is lots of things I can only see but cannot buy… ke ke ke…

Collected dear suit that night.. there is little hipcup once in a while.. but in the end, things turned out very well.. the suit fitted dear perfectly.. the next time we visit Bangkok.. I’m gg to make a suit for myself.. =P
The whole day ended with our usual routine… a 2 hour full body massage.. loved full body massage than foot massage.. we are going to miss the massgae when we go back

2nd Night In Bangkok…

Decided to explore Siam Center and Siam Discovery to look for dinner outlet… Siam Centre and Discovery proved to be a good shopping outlet… enjoyed our walk there.. settled for a Japanese Restaurant there.. Zen Japanese Restaurant… Tried out this dish that the waitress recommended… Shabu Shabu… very nice.. it’s like mini steamboat… yummy yummy..

Lots of pple asked why we tried Japanese food in Thailand… this was recommended by my colleague.. she mentioned that Thailand has one of the world largest no of Japanese expatriates.. so the standard of the Jap food there is very, very high.. after such high profiling given, how could we not try the food…

After shopping @ Siam areas, we went back to MBB for another round of shopping.. main intention is actually to go for dear’s fitting of the suit.. we also grabbed the chance to went to a local product shop to buy some local products for our families and friends… the food were well received by all after we came back…

Came upon this shop in MBK.. called themselves Paper Plus… they sell all sort of greeting cards…. If there is anyone of you living area near Bishan, there is a small booth at the top level selling paper cards.. the things they sold is very, very similar.. But price wise is a huge difference.. The one sold in Singapore is abt 10 pcs of cards @ S$2 while those that I bought in MBK only costs 25 pcs @ THB19.. which is only approx S$0.90…
Look at the differences.. Now whenever I’m gg Bangkok, I’ll surely visit that shop… my colleagues too =P

The night ended with, as usual, a massage session.. decided to explore the left streets of our hotel area.. Random went into a small massage parlor.. the massages were expensive… we did the 1 hour Thai foot massage which cost abt THB200 (approx S$9…) super cheap, right… I threw in a manicure session while having the massage.. Manicure cost abt THB150 (Approx S$6…) super cheap.. but the price is really link with quality of service…

As space is a constraint, the shop attendant made me stretch out my hands to the side way to do the manicure.. my hands became super aching.. half way through the trimming of my nails, she cut into my flesh… OUCH OUCH OUCH.. that hurt… she din even say sorry…after the trimming, she even asked me if I liked to leave my nails like that or would prefer a coating of color… thought it was funny of her to ask that question… of course, manicure comes with color coating wat…Little did I know why she asked…the color that the Thais prefer simply cannot make it.. too bright and too flashy.. if I had known the kind of color they used, I would have choose the 1st option given to me… I let the color stayed on my nails for 2 more days…on the day I reached S’pore, I removed it before stepping out of the house..

Went back to our hotel room after that.. called room service for some food… then sweet dreams to all… getting ready for our final full day in Bangkok… =P

2nd Day In Bangkok… Part 2

Proceed to other shopping malls where there are air-con for lunch… can’t stand the heat anymore… Decided to take the sky train and go to the furthest shopping area away from our hotel.. went to Bangkok’s orchard area…

“Orchard Road”….
No wonder pple called it mini orchard road… all the big hotels are there… Grand Hyatt, Marriot.. Holiday Inn... Hotel Intercontinental… etc etc etc.. the shopping centres like are also very “atas” one… most of the boutiques inside carry big brands like LV, Cartier, Channel… etc etc… when we went inside with our t-short and Bermuda and slippers, no wonder the security gurard stopped us to check our bags..
Went to Central Chidlom for lunch… another higher end shopping centre.. something like our paragon.. We checked out the information counter for location of restaurant.. Was told that a certain floor had the most variety of food choices… luckily heeded dear’s advice to ask.. the recommendation was cool…. found Food Loft at that level… very similar to Marche concept…ordering and billing is exact scenarios of Marche…

But we loved this place much, much better than Marche.. here’s the reasons : -

Ambience…
That was good.. the restaurant was at the top level with glass window by the side. so we’ll be enjoying the view while we are eating.. so unlike Marche where u only get to see walls…. So dark and no nice view..

Yummy yummy food…
Food varieties was high… Marche only served that few dishes but Food Loft has more.. it has different food corner, like Japanese, Chinese, Thai, French etc etc etc… I tried the Italian noodles… dear had a bowl of fish maw soup..then we had dessert… wow wow wow… the food fantastic… we were all thumbs up, hands up and legs up for the food… we were simply in heaven, man…

After a fulfilled lunch, we roamed abt the place for more shopping area.. came upon the 4 faced Buddha.. din really plan to visit the shrine and we didn’t even know it was there…
We were quite happy when we saw it.. that was the rebuild statue after the original one got “hacked up” by some mad guy…. We decided to do some prayer there… hope us, plus all our families and friends would be healthy and happy always… =P

Left the area after some time…. Proceeded to Siam area… went to Siam Square.. that’s like Taipei Xi Men Ding.. lots of small small shops for us to shop in… not very crowded, so enjoyable to just strolled along the street…bought some small accessories there… nice and eventful…. Spotted an A&W there… missed it so much when they pulled out of Singapore… missed the ice cream waffle, the root beer float and the curly fries…. Decided to recapture some old memories there.. so had a light before dinner snack there… indulge ourselves to a big mug of root beer float and a packet of curly fries… yummy yummy….

Oh gush… got so much to write abt….the trip was so much fun with eating and massaging… Guess that’s all for 2nd half of day 2… 2nd night in Bangkok coming up soon…. =P

2nd Day In Bangkok… Part 1

2nd day in Bangkok, we woke up ard 8am to have breakfast at the hotel.. breakfast was decent.. Collected our complimentary sky train pass on our way back to our room.. woke up early because we intended to visit Chatuchak Weekend Market.. Read from magazines and online forum that morning is the best time to visit due to smaller crowd and cooler weather..

Reached the market abt 10plus.. sky train was very accessible.. think it’s only abt 8 stops.. lead us right to the market.. When we reached the place, we almost breathless… guessed too many read the forum.. the place was crowded… we decided to just go by instinct on the direction… as usual, soon we lost our way… but it was a nice experience.. after about half an hour around the market. I began sweating like hell.. I’m someone who doesn’t sweat easily and I could stay inside the room with no fan or air-con on and the window closed… yet the trip to the market made be sweat… got to raise my white flag.. dear was happily enjoying the sight of me sweating away…

Didn’t really enjoy the shopping at the market.. things not really that cheap.. and it’s hot.. its’ crowded….oh god, I missed my air-con…stayed there for the morning, then we advanced somewhere else for lunch….

Our shopping prizes from Chatuchak Market ……
- beach shorts for me and brother
- pocket mirror… ***
- tube top for my power suit.. it’s damn cheap there…. 3 for approx S$4…
- some souvenirs for my sister and for our display cabinet in our new home…

*** p/s : Dear is the most relieved one when I bought this.. hands up, legs up to support my purchase…. the one that in brought from Hong Kong in 2004 broke… had been pestering dear to get me an exact duplicate.. now I have this, no need the Hong Kong one… that’s why.. ke ke ke

Saw lots of guys.. or shld I say girls in the market with make up on… oh man, that’s gross.. we even spotted 2 of them sharing a small stool, with one behind another… yucks… that’s frightening.. dear got so turned off… ha ha ha… guessed that is the culture of the Thais… we experienced it once in Phuket, now it’s in the capital city….not our cup of tea though, so still not used to it….

That’s all for 1st half of day 2… 2nd half coming up soon…. =P

1st Day In Bangkok

After checking in, unpacking our luggage and calling our parents to tell them that we reached safely in Bangkok, it was already closed to dinner time…. Decided to walk to Mah Boon Krong (MBK) for dinner… yap, our hotel is just located within minutes of walk from MBK.. Isn’t that wonderful? =P

We wandered ard the shopping centre for a while, looking for “delicious” food.. then we stumped upon this Chinese restaurant called 香味.. the food photos displayed outside the restaurant really looked tempting, so we decided to give it a try.. upon stepping into the restaurant, dear found his “feel”.. ha ha ha.. that’s because the restaurant is playing canto songs.. how can my dear not be uncle.. really dun know how to dispute that =P

Our dinner….
We ordered har gow, fried pineapple rice with ham, bbq pork and egg, fried ee fu noodle with ham, stirred fried vege with oyster sauce, fish maw soup, glutinous dumpling in ginger soup, watermelon shake and coffee… that’s hell lots of things… but not to worry, in Thailand, food serving is very small… so each dish (other than the main one) will only take 2 to 4 mouthful… Only got good things to say abt the food… YUMMY ….We left the place, feeling happy and satisfied.. what a good way to start a shopping trip =P

By the time we done for dinner, it appeared to be like 7plus… decided to make full use of the time, so did some minor shopping at MBK.. MBK was huge.. din even finished all the storey… But made some good purchases…

Our shopping prizes from MBK during 1st night……
- a pair of sunglasses for dear …
- a wallet and key pouch for our parents
- tailor made full suit for dear (inclusive of jacket, pants, shirt and a tie)..

Dear was very satisfied with his suit.. The guy, Krish took his measurement that night.. we went back for fitting the next day ard 9pm.. and on Sunday, dear got his suit… looked very nice on him… Spent abt S$300 on the suit… though my colleague said it was a little ex but we were happy with the purchases.. Back at home, making of a full suit with Eric would cost a bomb.. a pair of pants alone costs S$120.. one shirt easily costs S$100…so what do you think the price of the jacket would be like? I’ll leave that to your imagination… in anyway, dear is looking for quality.. so hopefully the extra $$that we spent for is worth the quality.. we loved the services and workmanship of that shop.. looking forward to visit the place to make a suit for me the next time we visit…

Our massage….
Ended the night with the grand finale… a 2-hour full body Thai massage.. the massage is really cheap.. 2-hour massage only costs THB380 (approx S$17).. where to find that in Singapore… Though the place looked quite rundown, service was extremely good… we enjoyed ourselves and the massaging really relaxed our leg muscles.. we are so happy that we tipped the girls… they were so happy when they received it.. to us, it was only about S$4 each per tip, per person… but you can see that they were happy.. they even asked us to go back the next day…. After the massage, we were looking forward to more shopping the next day..

Started to love Bangkok...

Bangkok Update…1st Cut…

Our Flight………
Our plane took off from Singapore about 12.35pm. We took Jet Star because it was much cheaper. However, suddenly felt that the seat are so small, the sitting position very weird for sleeping and that there are no entertainment system, which means no CSI….. oh no, I’m beginning to get use to SQ flight.. started to “despise” budget airline already.. not a good sign…. =P

The Airport………
Arrived at Bangkok ard 2 plus.. that was a new airport just opened couple of years ago.. very clean and well maintained.. so much better than the airport at Paris.. but still incomparable to our Singapore Changi Airport.. Can’t remember how the old airport look like but we are very satisfied with this current one…

Airport Transfer………
Took a public cab to our Hotel.. almost got “conned” by the private taxi driver to took a limousine cab.. cost THB900 (approx S$39).. But luckily I did my homework.. chose a public cab instead and it only cost us THB400.. better save the $$ for more shopping…

Asia Hotel………
We stayed in Asia Hotel.. Building was a bit run down.. but services was good… room was well equipped.. so nothing to complain abt.. location was also fantastic.. right beside one of the skytrain station.. very accessible to wkend market as well as major shopping centre… we can even walked to Platinum Mall.. one of the wholesale shopping mall… And there are many massage shops ard the hotel, so we are free to take our pick… As I was airline staff, I was entitled to crew rate @ THB1,900 (approx S$82) per night, inclusive of breakfast… To top it up, we got 2 free sky train passes worth THB100 each… food and services were all discounted…

Only thing I had to comment is their staff’s work efficiency… Booked my room via the internet… 1st time they confirmed my booking, the room type was wrong.. gave me a superior room for 3 when I asked for a deluxe room for 2.. 2nd time they confirmed my booking, I thought all was well until I checked in…

Almost got a heart attack when we were checking in.... the recep told us they could not locate my name in their booking system.. after some check, they found out that my booking was under the wrong month.. shld be in December but they booked it under November… almost fainted on spot.. luckily the hotel had lots of rooms, abt 650.. so still have room for us… I was quite upset initially.. I even showed the staff my email booking and my credit card payment instruction form.. All indicated that stay duration was in December… Guess I’m also in the wrong as I din check the confirmation slip properly.. Muz look out for this kind of details when traveling next time…

That’s all for an initial update…look out for more updates on daily activities =P

WenQing Wedding @ Orchard Hotel

Attended WQ’s wedding on Monday night @ Orchard Hotel.. WQ was dear uni frenzs and he was one of the brothers cum helper for dear at our wedding…

Finally, heard the wedding bells for him.. still remember the 1st time I met him.. I was 19 years old then.. he assured me that he was a good guy and that if I had any girlfriends who were single then, I could do a recommendation.. he even added that he having no girlfriend is because my dear is always with him.. (stealing all the lime light, I supposed)..

Been to Orchard Hotel once for my ex company dinner & dance.. din have a very good memory of that hotel cos of the poor service that D&D night.. surprising things turned out quite well.. maybe it’s the wedding deco.. I loved the ball room.. it’s huge and squarish.. with high ceiling.. and there is no pillars popping out, blocking the views.. the ballroom was splendid. The service was ok.. waitresses all very Chinese speaking.. maybe it’s a match cos WQ also very Chinese speaking kind. Even their march in song and the montage song are Chinese songs.. so you can imagine.. Projector screwed up a bit. No music came out so had to restart the thing 3 times.. But on the whole, wonderful night for the groom & the bride.. Toast to them..

Wanted to share with all of you, especially the brides-to-be and all 姐妹-to-be this impt information… the tactics that was used on WQ when he went to fetch is bride… the groom was made to wear a night gown over his suit and the rest of the brothers in bikini… then the brothers had to put on lipstick and kissed the groom… then all the guys were asked to do sit up.. the pics were real funny… this din end there.. during the dinner, the hosts and 姐妹 played a game.. groom is blindfolded and asked to touch a series of girls.. then he had to identify which girl is his wife.. tough one..he got the wrong “wife” for the 1st attempt cos he was misled by the ring on the girl’s finger.. got punished.. made to sing a love song to the wife… 2nd attempt, he got right but this time with the help of the wife.. (she whisper to him when she was close..) if not for her, I think there will be any punishment waiting for him..

Was real happy for the newly wed… was entertained by the montage and the “game” during the dinner… next wedding on line would be end Dec.. one for my colleague and another for dear colleague.. wedding bells really ringing high in the air now..

HEROS

Dear and I are onto this new series… it’s called HEROS

Synopsis : After a total eclipse casts its shadow across the globe, seemingly calling forth a multitude of everyday men and women with special powers, Dr. Mohinder Suresh, a genetics professor from India, continues to champion his father's theory that there are people with extraordinary abilities living among us. His mission is to find them and study them...

Here are some of the interesting characters from HEROS that appeared from Espi 1 to 15..

Claire Bennet - a high school cheerleader.. she has the power of self healing.. something like wolverine in x-men but she doesn't have the claws..

Niki Sanders - a Las Vegas single mother with astonishing strength - and a dangerous, amoral mirror image (Jessica Sanders).. not sure if that is split personality.. but Jessica definitely is strong.. so strong that she could break handcuffs used to hold elephant down.. And then there is her son Micah who can interact with electronic machinery through touch. He can easily get cash out from ATM machine.. Also there's the father DL.. he can go through wall.. there is a character like this in x-men but forgotten her name...

Matt Parkman - A police detective from Los Angeles. He can to hear the thoughts of others. That's dangerous.. and i won't want him near me to hear my thoughts..

Hiro Nakamura's - A rich man son from Japan.. and our fav character too.. he has the ability to pierce the space-time continuum and manipulate time. Watching him embark on his wild adventures with his best friend Ando Masahashi is real fun... his expression.. his behaviour.. it's lightening..

Nathan Petrelli - a congressional hopeful with the ability to fly.. His brother brother Peter, a nurse is also gifted.. he has the ability to absorb the powers of others, you know a copy and paste thingy.. Nathan has a daughter and you will never believe it.. that's Claire... wondering why the difference in surname.. Claire was adopted since young.. and Nathan had always thought Claire was dead.. little does he knows that she has healing power.. Claire's mother.. Meredith has power too.. she can control fire.. that's so cool..

There is also Sylar, a manipulative serial killer dedicated to violently collecting the extraordinary talents of special people.. how he does that.. by cutting up pple's brain.. that's gross man..

There are also other gifted out there.. there's charlie who has great memory.. brian who has the ability to control things from distance.. the painter who can paint future.. the Haitien man who can cause one to have memory loss.. Zane who can melt things down to the atom stage.. one car mechanic who can hear voices from far far away..one who is invisible.. one who can send out radioactive waves.. another who can access internet w/o being online... wow.. there are so many of themm

These are also new characters who have not appear yet.. (got them off from the internet)... A young woman named Maya Herrera and her twin brother, plagued by her threatening ability, attempt to make the dangerous crossing to the United States in search of help. And Monica Dawson, another young woman with newfound special abilities, would give up everything to help the people around her. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world...

Currently, most hated statement from the show... To be continued.. from this, i'm sure you can tell how much we liked the show... will update you more on HEROs...

Dinner @ SCCCI

Went for one of the worst sit down dinner I ever had in my life.. Daddy and his friends had this dinner at Singapore Chinese Chambers of Commence and Industry to commemorate the xxth years it was established (opps, forgotten abt the year.. obviously I wasn’t too interested). Needed pple to fill out the empty seats.. so as usual, the good daughter and son-in-law rise to the occasion and went with them to the dinner.. made the worst decision ever…

Hmm.. maybe I talked abt the good thing 1st.. the place itself was astonishing.. never been inside SCCCI before.. glad to take a peek inside.. it was magnificent with all the old wordings and old photos… Really loved the “old” feeling that the place has.. hmm.. think that is the only gd thing I had to say abt that night..

Now, the bad things.. the dinner came with a big stage + live performance by some “白狗骨” band .. dun ask me what that is.. I dun know.. and during the live performance by that band, there are several singers (which I had never heard of) who performed.. that make the dinner turned from bad to worse.. bad singing + skimpy & ugly costume + bad figure….. oh my god… food was not even nice too…

After a few dishes, dear and I went to the toilets.. after that we sneaked out.. ke ke ke.. Planned to go for some fast food but none was opened… sigh.. it was only 10 plus but most shops at city hall were already closed

We went back to the dinner just in time for its last dish.. the dessert.. after a bad night + empty stomach.. dear and I went home to have cup noodle + marble cake and we watched our favorite series.. HEROS now.. what a night…

Dinner @ Hilton Hotel

Went to Hilton Hotel for dinner over the weekend… Utilized our gift voucher given to us by Hilton because we held our wedding there 1 year ago…

Thought it would be the traditional kind of international buffet.. but I was wrong.. Hilton had this themed buffet dinner where by the dinner theme would differ on a daily basis… Saturday was the Japanese deluxe night.. it was the 2nd most expensive theme @ S$48+++ wow… we would never had spent that amt of money if we are to dine on our own…

The most expensive theme was the Wagyu beef theme which is on Thursday night @ S$58+++… Got this off from the internet …. “Wagyu is a breed of cattle naturally predisposed to produce beef that is densely marbled. In fact, Wagyu beef surpasses USDA marbling standards for prime-grade beef. Often referred to as the “foie gras of beef,” Wagyu has an exquisitely tender texture and incomparable, luxurious taste.” Though expensive, we felt lucky not to have chosen this day.. otherwise we would have nothing to eat..

Monday was the Herbs and spice night.. Dear liked that but too bad, we din know abt the theme dinner, else we would have chosen that.. One of the night is the Japanese Night (w/o the deluxe), the other is the Thai food night and one is the seafood night… can’t really remember the rest.

Me & dear are not great fans of Japanese food and we dun really take raw food too.. so din really fancy the dinner a lot.. But must really compliment the food.. they are nice indeed.. esp the fish soup that we had… we are really full though cos we took all the rice, noodle soup and sushi.. I ate lots of cake too… yummy yummy…

In general…we had a wonderful evening that night =P
