My 战利品s from this Guangzhou | Hongkong family trip...  Yeap, I just loved shopping!!!

Clockwise....
(1) Mummy's buys... tops and dresses... belts... facial masks...

(2) Party supplies and food and miscelleanous buys... (hee, mummy ended up bought more facial masks and belts...)

(3) House hold supplies and toys and books... (side note, dear and I really love the cheap bath mats that we got from GZ... opps, am I becoming too aunty, buying floor mats while on holiday... ha ha ha ha)

(4) Boys' buys... Toys won at the game stalls... socks... pants... T-shirts (imagine a spiddy t-shirt at S$2.50 per pirce, how can i not buy it? ended up buying 6 of them, 2 spiddies, 2 super man and 2 doramone... ha ha ha)... Vest...

Guangzhou l Hongkong Family Trip [Day 7]

Last full day in HongKong, we visited Ocean Park... This is Dear and I 2nd visit to the Park, while it is the 1st for our bunnies...

Bright and early, we took the MTR to the bus interchange, waited for our turn to buy tickets and in no time, we boarded the Ocean Park City Bus to Ocean Park...

We 1st visited the park in 2004 and gosh, Ocean Park changed a lot.. In terms of facilities, rides and place, there were so much more improvements... Only set back were the bleh shows which we thought cannot make it... The place was also not as crowded which is a super plus point for us, with kids... Even the queue to the photo session with the mascot took a nerely 10 to 15minutes each.. Thumbs up...

The kiddos loved it at their 1st visit too... Especially the kids corner, with all the kiddy rides and the playground... We din try any adult rides this time though... Maybe next time when we are back, with the kids grown up, we can afford to do it as a family.. ke ke ke... Well, we will definitely be back...

On our way to Ocean Park...

Posing with the deco at the entrance...

With Mr. Shark...

With Professor Turtle...

Do we look like the kissing fishes... ha ha ha...

Carousel time... And I got to ride alongside with little bunny this time, instead of standing beside him...

With the Mascot...

After the birds' show, posing with the parrots and making a donation to build a house for the parrots...

Kiddy rides time at the kiddy land...

Fun with the slides... And finally little bunny can ride down the slide himself...

Presenting Mr. and Mrs. Penguins...

The "Ng" ladies posing with the polar bears...

Mummy, can I bring home the panda?

Mummy, if you dun buy me the panda, how about the penguins?

Cable car ride back to the entrance...

Guangzhou l Hongkong Family Trip [Day 6]

Day 3 in Hongkong, Dear just recovered from his fever, so we decided to spend it free and easy and relaxing....

Eat... Shop... Eat...
The day started with us having dim sum at the famous 添好运.... Food was really good and cheap... But the important thing is, no queuing... YEAH!!!
After lunch, we followed the crowd and took the bus to visit Mongkok, Ladies Street and Langham Place... After shopping, we ended at having dinner at one of the restaurant at Langham Place... Then it's hotel sweet hotel for us...

Our fruitful lunch at 添好运

Happy bunnies with the grandparents...

@ Mongkok, enjoying an ice cream from the mobile ice cream van...

Big bunny hard at work before dinner... learning about HongKong MTR system..

Our dinner...

Guangzhou l Hongkong Family Trip [Day 5]

What is visit to HongKong without a visit to Disneyland?

On our 2nd day in HongKong, we visited Disneyland. Dear developed a fever the night before, hence we decided that he will rest in the hotel. My parents, sister, siste-in-law and myself then went ahead to bring the 2 bunnies to Disneyland via MTR. It was actually a first for us as the last time we came, we took private transport.

Verdict:
The place was still as nice, though hot... The disney characters still made me and my bunnies went crazyyyy over them...

But, but, but... the place had became much more crowded since we were there 3 years ago... so much more tourists, especially from neighbouring countries... And I din even went on a weekend or a public holiday...

Photo taking with the characters... I used to be able to take photos with all the disney characters as the queues were short and they were pretty fast moving... Fast foward to now, omg, I actually had to queue 45minutes each just for a photo with Chip and Dale and Mickey Mouse... Taking the rides... were even worse... 45min to 1hr for the parachuting... 30min for the dog ride... 1hr for dumbo, the flying elephant... And to think that I even met unreasonable tourists (you know where they are from) who always loved to jump queue... Grrrrr....

End of the day, we spent most time queuing and with 2 kids in tow, we din even finish the whole park... Will I visit HongKong Disneyland again? Well, maybe... But to be honest, I am more keen to the ones in Japan and even in USA... I'm counting down for my bunnies to grow up a little more, so that I can venture further...

Posing with Chip and Dale..

Posing inside Disneyland... with the village chief and the balloons...

Break for lunch to fill our tummies before queuing again...

Our lunch!!!

Queuing again... this time for shows...
Can you spot the "before and after" thingy in these photos?

All "WANTED-bes" in the house...

Opps, not tall enough for the ride... Then let's have some fun with the water...

Finally, a photo with Mickey and Minnie, where we queued for almost close to an hour...

Soldiers on standby for parachuting...

Posing with the characters from Toy Story...

Yes, SIR... we are real!!! No wonder, little bunny kept looking at them...

THIS IS IT.... Toy Story Land... We had been there and done it... CERTIFIED!!!

The shortest queue we had... with Tinklebell...
Because we spotted the Disney staffs putting up the barricades and started queuing even before crowd came... hence we are No 2 in the line...

With Dumbo, the Flying Elephant...

Guangzhou l Hongkong Family Trip [Day 4]

Time flies and by mid day, we were seated comfortably in the car, on the way to HongKong... It was almost close to dinner time, when we reached and settled down at Ovolo Hotel, Hongkong...

Hotel was like heaven as compared to that of the one in China... The rooms were all well lit, clean and modernized... The view from the room at 19th and 20th floor was also breath-taking... Not only were we impressed with the rooms, we were also taken aback by the services... The wifi was totally free and most importantly, FAST... Imagine, me and dear were able to watch our online streaming drama series in the hotel... The hotel also offered complimentary in room bar (chips and drinks and beer) as well as a complimentary snack corner at the reception, which is my bunnies' all time fav...

We took up two units of family suite. Each family suite contained 3 bedrooms, with 2 of them having a king sized bed each and 1 of them having a single bed..  With a total of 6 bedrooms, we had quite a funny sleeping configuration..

Family Suite No 1 :
Bedroom 1 and 2 with king sized bed : Dear and his parents respectively
Bedroom 3 with the single bed : My sis in law

Family Suite No 2 :
Bedroom 1 and 2 with king sized bed : My parents and myself with little bunny respectively
Bedroom 3 with the single bed : My sister with big bunny

The location of the hotel was also good... Imagine waking up in the morning and finding yourself in the middle of the clothes wholesale market.. ke ke ke...

The overall accommodation was a thumb up for all family members... For all we know, we might come back again when we next visit HongKong...

Our 赞 hotel!!!

Our simple dinner at a restaurant near to the hotel...

Hong Kong Trip - The Finale

Hong Kong Trip (28th May 2011 to 01st June 2011) - Part 5
Day 5 : Disney Land + HKD to SGD

Location : Disney Land Hollywood Hotel

Kaden woke up chirpy… Greeted all of us “Morning”…
It must be the Disney “BUG: that is making him so happy…
We took a quick breakfast, and started to pack. After packing, we swiftly check out and soon, we were on our way to Disney Land again.

At Disney Land, we decided to take things easier. 1st, we went for our lunch. We decided to have yum cha. Thumbs up for the food again. After lunch, we visited the gift shop… Tried out many different hat & hairbands, and posed to take pictures with them… it was hilarious…

After that, we checked with the workers at Disney Land where to find Pooh Bear, so that we can take a pic with him. We were told that all the characters will be at Fantasy Garden for photography. Wasting no time, Dear & I decided to bring Kaden to queue for the photography session. Kaden, I must say is very corporative.

We managed to snap shots with Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Pooh Bear and Duffy Bear. We missed the photography session with Tigger but never mind, this will give us an excuse to visit Disney Land for a 2nd time…

We took family photos (just us & Kaden) and Kaden alone with the characters.. We din managed to view the photos taken with Pooh Bear as we needed to rush to the airport… Again, an excuse to visit Disney Land for a 2nd time…

The photos were simply splendid…

Before we moved off, we visited the gift shop again and this time, we made a shopping spree… Ended up with
- 3 Mickey Mouse T-shirts for Kaden
- 1 Mickey Mouse Top for Mummy Ting
- 1 Mickey Mouse Top for Daddy Wei
- 1 Mickey Mouse Top for Grandma
- 1 Pair of Mickey Mouse Slippers
- Another 4 8R photos, taken with the Mickey Mouse and Duffy Bear

Location : HongKong International Airport

About 3plus, we made our way to the airport via 1 cabby… Can you imagine 4 adults + 1 kid + 2 big luggage + 1 small luggage + 1 stroller… All squeezed into one cab… Salute the taxi uncle…

At the airport, we grabbed some food and beer… Also, we did some last minute shopping of local products… Kaden slept throughout the journey from Disney Land to the airport, and just before we boarded the plane, he woke up… So can you imagine an active baby on board of the plane, on our way back… Sigh… tiring…

But for the journey back, all things went well.. no ear pressure for Kaden… in fact, he was happily eating away… and watching shows…

All in all, 5D4N HongKong ended well…

Our next firmed holiday is Bangkok…. In July 2011 (Yippe)

Plans for the 2nd half of the year : For us & Kaden, a KL trip + Genting, maybe?? Batam?? Not sure if my inlaws wanna join us but let’s assume they dun 1st… ke k eke, cos whether they joining or not, we are still planning to go… Maybe a trip just for Dear & 1 to Taipei?? Bali?? Phuket?? Well, still brainstorming…

Plans for next year: A trip to Perth or Melbourne, hopefully… If all things failed, we shall go back to Hong Kong… ha ha ha

Shall look forward to Bangkok 1st…
BANGKOK, Here we come…

Hong Kong Trip Part 4

Hong Kong Trip (28th May 2011 to 01st June 2011)
Day 4 : Disney LandFinally, we bid farewell to MongKok, to Langham Place Hotel…
Off we went, to Disney Land =D

Location : Disney Land Hollywood Hotel
We reached Disney Land Hollywood Hotel at about 11am…
Had a great shock when we saw long queue at the check in counter, but was told this was a normal sight as it was the school Holiday for most Asian countries…
We deposited our luggage … Dear went to queue for check in while the rest of rested at the lounge…
Kaden had his fun at the gift shops, looking through all “HIS” Mickey Mouse friends…
It was too early to check in but we managed to collect our Theme Park tickets, so off we went to Disney Land

Location : Disney Land
We took the shuttle bus from the Hotel to Disney Land…

Bus was comfy… Plenty of seats for all of us… And it was a fast ride to Disney Land

The only thingy that turned us off was the long, long, long, long walk from the bus station to the entrance of Disney Land… It was a 10 to 15mins walk, under the hot sun with nothing to look at, at the side, except for bushes… Made me and Dear wondered… why the long walk?? Too many lands to waste & din know what to do with it… **sigh**

Soon, we reached the entrance of Disney Land **FINALLY**
It was abt 1230pm, so we went in, and decided to look for a place for lunch…

Saw pple queuing for their turns to take pictures with Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse, & I joined them, only to be told that the photography session was over and the next queue will start only at 2pm.. Okie, 2pm it shall be…

We settled down for lunch at a restaurant in Tomorrow Land’s, called Comet Café.
Ordered BBQ Pork Rice + Chicken Leg Rice + Fishball Soup + Fruits + Salad…
Though expensive, but the food was surprising nice… Even Kaden had his share of the food

After lunch, we took a fast ride on the Orbitron @ Tomorrow Land… Short & sweet…
Considered our “opening” for the next item on our agenda…

It was 1.45pm and we quickly made our way to the entrance to queue to take pictures with Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse. The staffs were not there yet but the queue already started forming. And we were 3rd in the line =D

Poor Daddy Wei to queue under the hot sun while the rest of us sat under the shade… Kaden was enjoying himself, happily running ard in the large open areas… Soon Mickey & Minnie appeared… Upon spotting them, Kaden quickly ran towards their directions and started to wave to Mickey… and shouting Mouse… Mouse…No time to waste and we quickly rushed to Daddy’s side waiting for our turn to take pictures with Mickey

After the photo shoot, I spotted Goofy and Pluto at the other end of the street, and off we went again to queue for another photo session…

Kaden spotted Goofy and started calling out to him…
But instead of Goofy, Kaden called out “Kopi Kopi’.. All of us went laughing non stop…
My braved Kaden even took photos with Goofy and Pluto alone… That’s my boy =D

After the photo session, we roamed about the park and also took photos with Tinkle Bell & the castle…

At around 3plus, we also to secure our places for the event of the day, the parade…
It was a happy moment for Kaden who was happily waving to his Mickey friends…
Even Ah Gong started to dance to the tune of the music…
Managed to take a video of part of the parade and Kaden enjoying the parade…

After the parade, we rested at the Royal Banquet Hall @ Fantasy Land and Kaden fell asleep…
It was only a short nap for Kaden, and soon he was up and running…
After the nap, he was more energetic and we started to embark on all the rides…

We took Dumbo, the flying Elephants and the Cinderella Carousel… We even got my ILs in for the Pooh Bear ride “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh“… We thought Kaden will be scared but he said “好玩” when we exited… It was hilarious… Thumbs up for my brave boy…

It was around 7.30pm and we decided to go back to our Hotel room for dinner and for the fireworks display…

Location : Disney Land Hollywood Hotel

We took the shuttle bus back to the hotel. It was a breeze… We wanted to order in-room dining, then we realized that the hotel don’t have this services. So we ended up going down to the Hotel’s fast food chain to pack dinner up to the room… We brought Kaden along and there was a big surprise waiting for us at the hotel lobby… It was Chip & Dale… Din bring down my camera, so we used Dear’s Iphone… Not bad, at least we have 2 shots with my favorite characters…

Dinner was nice, despite it being from a fast food chain… Overall, NICE =D
At ard 8plus, after our dinner, we sat on our bed and enjoyed the spectacular night view of HKD and the fireworks… Simply nice to have a holiday with your loved ones…
This was Kaden’s 1st to see fireworks… Kaden was happy and kept waving his hands =D

What a great way to end the night =D

Started to pack for our return trip to Singapore the following day…
Concluded our purchases at the end of the day, and our take home from Disney Land for Day 1 includes…
- A Mickey Mouse cap (Meant for Kaden to shield the strong sun but he was only willing to put it on when Mickey Mouse was around him **sigh**)…
- A Mickey Mouse fan cum water gun (Can use the fan to cool us down but Kaden only enjoys to use the water gun to shoot at us @_@ lllll)
- A box of Mickey Mouse figurines
- A box of Disney Princess figurines
- 4 8R photos, taken with the castle, Mickey Mouse. Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto
