Baby Massage.. Shiok..

Auntie Fatimah gave me my traditional Malay massage after I delivered... As I signed up for a 10days package, I was entitled to a free baby massage for Kaden, a steam bath & a body scrub for myself...

On Day 7 of my massage, we decided to let Kaden try the baby massage.. Said to be able to calm him down more and make him sleep better...and to get rid of wind...

Turned out that our Kaden loved massage.. Just like Daddy...

In the end, I gave up my steam bath and body scrub in exchange for 2 more sessions of baby massage for Kaden... Took some videos.. Shall put it up if I can load it in =D

Auntie Fatimah also taught me the massage.. Hopefully I can do some of the steps... Maybe not all, but just thetummy rubbing to rid Kaden's of colic i.e. wind =D

Kaden's Baby Shower Party

Held Kaden baby shower at , Crystal Cafe @ Orchard Grand Court on 12th July 09... Muz say it's a successful event =D.. chosen the place due to recommendation from motherhood forum..

For my frenzs who I sent the invites through email, I actually did up an invitation card.. Kaden looks so adorable... That's my boy...

Most of the adults enjoyed the meal... Think it's "uncle" enough for them... Especially my hubby.. ha ha ha..Taiwan porridge buffet.. It's a very different kind of buffet, I muz say...

Throughout the event, our Kaden was fast asleep... He only woke up towards the end, when almost everyone left... Actually, that's not a bad thingys also... At least, no one will disturb my boy.. I also dun wan pple to carry him and pass him from one pax to another...

The event ended well.. and our Kaden is 1 mth old now... =D

Our "Newly Renovated" Room

Having moved back to my inlaws place, we re-decorated our room a little.. Now the room is filled with Kaden's thingys.. He's a lucky boy =D

Kaden's Collection

My Kaden has a various collection of pacifiers...Avent, pigeon, tollyjoy and piyopiyo... A total of 5... You think it's alotz?? Kaden's frenz, Reuben has about 15 of them... Ha ha ha ha..

I used to think that should avoid giving babies pacifiers.. Pple say babies who suck on pacifiers will have bug bunny teeth... well .. i dun wan to see Kaden crying too much.. so I gave in..

Anyway, dun think the bug bunny teeth is true...i grew up, feeding on pacifiers.. so is dear..

Also, think my Kaden dun really like pacifiers that much.. he dun sleep with them... sometimes when we gave it to him, he will spit it out real far away...

No wonder pple say when u have kids, you can't really do any planning... I planned for Kaden to not have pacifiers,, but I failed.. wa ha ha ha...

2nd Visit to PD

Took Kaden to visit the PD last Monday...Was time for his 2nd Hep B injection... PD noted that he still got a little jaundice.. so took a little of his blood too to run some test... baby is not supposed to have jaundice after 2 wks old.. So PD worried might have kidney prob.. **cross fingers** So painful to see the PD poking needle into my Kaden

But at least got good news... Hurray... Hurray...

On 26th Jun.. Kaden weighed 3.2kg.... On Monday, 6th Jul, he weighed a healthy 3.8kg.. so happy.. initially, we thought that his weight will go down.. cos his milk intake dropped from 3oz evert 3 hrs to 2oz every 2 hrs.. but my Kaden gained weight.. so happy..

Another happy news.. 2 days later, the blood test came back.. all is okie.. Kaden's jaundice level is due to breastmilk... yippee..

Hope my Kaden will continue to grow =D

Decision Made... All for Kaden...

For Kaden... Dear and I made a decision...

We decided to move back to my in-laws place to stay... Decided that it was better to have elderly at home with me and baby...

On 2nd July after we brought Kaden out, Kaden returned home, crying non-stop at nitz.. Dear and I were at a loss... I fed Kaden milk, change his dirty diaper, hug him close to me... But nothing could help to settle him.. Seeing him cry, with small drops of tears at his eye side, I also broke down and cried... Immediately, dear called for help.. Rang up my mum, who rushed down to our place with "Jing Feng San"... Thank God, we lived so near by...

Mum fed Kaden the "Jing Feng San"... and helped us to carry Kaden.. Soon, Kaden stopped crying and fell asleep.. Ended up that I continue crying cos I felt so helpless and upset that I could not understand why Kaden is crying.. Mum stayed with us for the nitz...

That same nitz, Dear made the decision to bring both me and Kaden to stay with his parents for the time being.. Eventually, we both decided that we were too inexperienced to take of the baby.. So it's learning time...

Our plan... To stay at in-laws place during wkday and to go back to our own place during wkend.. =D

Well... For Kaden, all changes are worthwhile =D

2nd July... Our Kaden is 1 mth old =D

2nd July is an impt date... it marks the end of my confinement... and it marks the full month of my prince Kaden...

Many things were planned for this special day...

In the morning, Kaden had his 1st hair cut... Supposed to be good for him.. "get rid of his hair from my tummy, to get new hair for hmself"... Dear took some pics of him while the gal in action was shaving his hair.. He was crying away.. It pained me to look at the pics, so decided not to post them online...

With his hair and umbilical cord, we decided to make a baby hair brush and an umbilical cord stamp for Kaden.. Will upload the pics when we got back the products...

Next stop, we proceeded to dear's parents' place... Went there to pray to the Lim ancestors.. Daddy & Mummy were happy to receive all of us.. It's Kaden's 1st trip to Ah Gong & Ah Ma place =D Look at the grins on the grandparents' face.. So 幸福...

Last stop of the day, we went to my parents place to pray to the Ng ancestors... Dear looked so funny.. He is now the official cheap labour for Kaden.. Opps.. Should I say free labour instead.. In the past when we go out, dear loved to be empty handed.. Look at him now.. one bag where I stored my breast pump equipment, one bag where I stored a big bottle of my red dates tea (last day of drinking it) & two bags for Kaden's items... Poor dear...

At my parents' place, both father and son fell asleep due to tireness... Don't they look alike... Same sleeping position..

Kaden on 30th June

Took a picture of Kaden yesterday after his feed...

His milk intake increased from 25ml when he was 1st discharged 4 weeks ago to 90ml now.. Though still not a lot, but can see visibly that he put on some weight.. a week ago during his visit to his PD, he weighs a healthy 3.2kg... look at his apple-liked cheeks..

Auntie and I tried pinching him slowly.. and as usual, he cried.. opps.. Naughty Mummy and Auntie... Will try to pinch less next time.. Hope he put on more weight... Daddy & Mummy love to see him fair and chubby... Jus like the chinese proverb.. "白白胖胖"....

Visitors from Shanghai

On Saturday, we had some visitors from Shanghai... Dear's ex-colleague, Adeline came bk to Singapore for a short visit... Ade's daughter and son are adorable and very well behaved...

Kaden is like Daddy in another way... Sleeping soundly, irregardless of watever happen or whoever is ard.. wa ha ha ha... Like father like son.. =D

White Flag Raised.....

After close to 1 month of persistant determination not to give Kaden pacifier, we finally lost the battle... We raised the white flag not becos Kaden is crying for pacifier... But becos mother in-law said so.. Sigh.. No choice.. Give in lar..

Dear went to Kiddy Palace to get another 3 pacifiers... so that he wun be too used to only one...

But guess what... Kaden started to reject eating pacifier... wa ha ha ha... after a few attempt, he started to spit out the pacifier... Guess he starts to realise that no milk is coming out from the pacifier.. wa ha ha ha...

Kaden is like daddy huh... muz eat.. otherwise, hungry baby = angry baby...

Hope he keeps on rejecting pacifier... =D
